Early on in my college career I became pregnant at just 22 years of age. Despite taking a small detour on my college journey I pushed forward and was able graduate college with my Bachelors in Marketing. Graduating had always been my goal, but what would be my goal after graduation? With no real plans in mind my partner and I decided that I would become a stay-at-home mom. As much as I loved being a mother and watching my child grow, there was something missing. So much time and money was spent getting me to the finish line and for me not to use the skills I had acquired seemed like a waste.  I wanted to believe I could have it all! A job that paid well, yet allowed me the flexibility to be with my child daily. Little did I know that type of job would be the equivalent to a unicorn, especially to someone who had just recently graduated. 

During college I always had a dream of starting a business of my own. In fact, I looked into several business ventures that ultimately did not pan out. Once I had a child that dream seemed to dissipate, falling into the background as the reality of motherhood and marriage were pushed to the forefront. Three months after graduation and strictly being a stay-at-home mom I decided to start a business. I wasn’t sure what it would be, but I knew it had to be something I was passionate about and would allow me to utilize the skills I learned in school. Thus, Tulle & Twirls was born, allowing me to combine my passion for motherhood with my need to be fulfilled as a young business woman.

When deciding to go into the children’s clothing industry it was made very clear to me that most children’s clothing stores often lacked sophisticated, quality, age-appropriate, and/or affordable styles. As my brand began to grow I knew that I wanted to provide a safe space for moms to communicate, children to be themselves, and budding entrepreneurs to showcase their products. Tulle & Twirls is evolving into more than just a children’s clothing brand, but a community as well.
